The Great Big Challenge is a 31-day wellness challenge that encourages you to achieve fitness goals while fundraising for BBBS kids in your community. When you set your goal, you not only get fit and inspire others, you also help change the lives of children.
Why? Because right now, over 70 million children in the United States are at risk.
Throughout the month of January, from any location across the United States, you can walk, cycle, swim, run, do yoga, lift weights, or do any other physical activity.
You can log your miles or time via MapMyFitness/Ride/Run or through your own personal GPS device, and then you can simply add them manually to your personal page.
We encourage you to personalize your page and update it frequently. That’s where you will track your progress and ask your friends to support your challenge. The more you update your page, the more you will inspire others to get involved.

1. Register and choose a track
When you register, choose a fitness area that you'd like to focus on for the Great Big Challenge. It can be anything: running, walking, lifting weights, cycling/ spinning, yoga or swimming. Then, every day throughout January, which is National Mentoring Month, complete a mini-challenge connected to your fitness passion. Complete your challenge any time of the day, and with friends, family, co-workers or by yourself!
2. Fundraise for children in your community
You can start fundraising immediately after registering to give you even more time to reach your goal. Every participant gets their own online fundraising page, and the funds you raise will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters in your community and across the nation.
3. Get moving for 31 days
To unlock fundraising incentives, get moving and challenge your family and friends to make donations to your fundraising page! Spread the word about the importance of mentoring and your progress using the hashtag #GreatBigChallenge.
